For the sake of cross platform interoperability, Logiweb internally uses code 10 (Line Feed) between lines of text regardless of the newline convention of the host operating system.
For that reason, when lgc reads a text file, it converts host newlines to code 10 and when it writes a text file it converts the other way. When reading a text file, lgc converts anything that looks like a newline to code 10. When writing a text file, it converts code 10 to the newline convention of the host operating system as specified by the newline option of lgc(1).
